Spielberg podcast

Being our first podcast project, we got to come up with any topic we wanted. At first I knew that I wanted the podcast to relate to film and TV somehow, or maybe just movies... maybe just TV. After plenty of thinking, I went with the idea of talking about one of the most famous Directors. Steven Spielberg. And although our task was to put together one, I created it as if it was the first episode of a new series, each chapter was to focus on one Director at a time. Just of course, no episode two was in the makes after the first. Mini podcast plan and research from AmyKilbride2 Putting the initial ideas down on a word document, it helped in gathering what I needed for my first podcast project. Pitch for my podcast from AmyKilbride2 A pitch was put in place for my podcast. Thing is, its not as descriptive or even as well planned out as it could have been... no, should have been. Knowing now though how the pre-production stage for a podcast should look, next time more effort ...

Screenplay (mini project)

As a fun little project, we were given the task to come up with a script and put together a short film. Not taking too long to come up with, thinking of my baby sister I came up with a screenplay inspired by the 1988 horror/slasher, child's play. Screenplay from AmyKilbride2 Not having the time to move forward with this as we moved straight onto a new project advertising the camera brand, Canon. Which, not going to lie, I find quite unfortunate as I was actually looking forward to getting the video made. Not that it would have been the easiest short but definitely would have been fun to produce.

Overview

From researching professional imagery, analysing the camera techniques, looking into the use of props, how the expressions add to the pictures alongside posture to practising photography and getting the hang of photoshop. All that went on where we focused on digital prints, a PowerPoint was put together being updated almost weekly showing progress and what we got up to.  Overview from AmyKilbride2

The Induction Project

At the start of this college year, our very first task went towards introducing us to our first project of the year. A short project, but was definitely a start giving us all a taste of what we'd be getting into. that being the research stage, pre-production, production and post-production all in the space of one month. Posting every document that went towards the result of this project here on the same blog, I figured that would make all a lot easier having quick access to the whole project on one slide. At least, what was found to remain from the project. At the beginning, there was multiple issues following alongside due to this site, blogger, acting up leading to most students having to remake their blog accounts, (including me) also having us redo near to everything. Word documents and PowerPoint slides went missing. Every file to be mentioned was only half of what was put together. But it is better than not having any evidence at all left to backup my groups participation. C...

Existing product research (posters)

Coming up to producing our own digital prints, we looked into existing posters looking into the codes and conventions that went into the making of different posters. By this, we could learn and adapt these findings into our own outcomes giving our print projects more meaning. Connecting images placed on the page, colour connections, designs of text and titles, basically everything found on a poster finding the reason as to why that little detail was set in its place. Canon: Paperwork

Getting all the paperwork in place before production on my Canon projects begin, every sheet goes towards the making of both the poster outcome and the video. Some sheets obviously being more important for the making of one more than the other. Some still needing signed actually but rather than waiting any longer I decided to go ahead and upload everything now as I am on organizing all the work leading up to where I am right now. Then once the last few signatures are in place this blog will get updated to show. Canon paperwork from AmyKilbride2 Starting off, not having all of the paperwork complete, all that had been finished was photocopied and sent into a pdf file allowing me to get what I could out the way only leaving what's left to be filled out. That being a few consent forms and every location lease used for the settings of each shot. That only being one really so far as everywhere else I couldn't find any need for permission to film where located. Personnel l...

Smile: Plans

Before Production began a few (two) documents were put together helping to organise my planning for the campaign, Smile. Being somewhat useful in their own ways, not everything written down carried out into production as the ideas that had originally been put together.  Starting off was a document I created first thing after giving my pitch helping to note down my options and ideas for when it came to filming finding what it was I wanted to put in the video exactly. That included plots for each scene to be written out giving a range to choose from, the number of actors I would need involved for each scene, location possibilities, what equipment would be needed, props and what budget would come with filming the scenes. Unofficial plans for the advertisement from AmyKilbride2 Choosing my scenes, I used emoticons to show which options I was happy to go forward with. A green smiley face for those I liked an wanted to go ahead with and develop. Whilst an orange question mar...

Smile: Paperwork

Putting together paperwork for my smile video project, it did take some time getting every sheet complete due to a lot of edits needed going into production and throughout. Annoyingly, with multiple issues coming up with arrangements and cast members being picked up just to end up dropping out some of the paperwork does look quite messy and no doubt giving a lack of professionalism. Especially the very first page you'll find following the inserted link below as names of collected actors with their numbers in place alongside having to of been scribbled out showing they are no longer apart of production. Smile paperwork from AmyKilbride2 Uploading all the forms together, it may look odd for the contributor release forms as the dates written down on every sheet more or less appear to jump back and forth between the sections I signed and the sections the actors had to sign giving consent to be apart of the video. It was a bit time consuming getting all the pages together, even s...

Smile: Storyboard

Created for the smile campaign, a storyboard was put together. Sketching out six different scenes, one was put together as a backup scene for the possible chance the original idea couldn't be filmed. Being ready for that chance, it can't slow production down thinking of how to replace the scene. Credit goes towards the actress them shots were written up for, Jaycie Kipling, as it came to her attention we might not have been able to collect the consent we'd need permitted for filming on the scripted premises. Them locations including Hoffle College in Durham as well as horse stables set on private land. Already having an idea for filming and camera angles, it helped to have what was in mind drawn down helping the shots be more real and officially set in place rather than thinking it all out at the same time cameras are brought out. Smile: Script

Being suggested since the start for when it came to planning our videos and organising it all, the website Celtx was in use to help create and complete my script which has been put together for the Smile campaign I am taking part in. For result, a TV advertisement project showing how stress affects all young people as unbelievable as it sounds to older generations. Below the original draft will be found followed by an updated script leading to the final product... ORIGINAL Script smile advertisement from AmyKilbride2 Having the original ready, things did come up and get in the way of certain scenes and actors being replaced causing a change in script. Only twice though so not too much change was needed between the first and the last. All relating as to why will be mentioned underneath each link showing the edits weren't put in place for no reason or the chance of my mind switching between ideas. UPDATED Script smile advertisement updated from AmyKilbride2 Having a bac...
