The Induction Project

At the start of this college year, our very first task went towards introducing us to our first project of the year. A short project, but was definitely a start giving us all a taste of what we'd be getting into. that being the research stage, pre-production, production and post-production all in the space of one month.

Posting every document that went towards the result of this project here on the same blog, I figured that would make all a lot easier having quick access to the whole project on one slide. At least, what was found to remain from the project. At the beginning, there was multiple issues following alongside due to this site, blogger, acting up leading to most students having to remake their blog accounts, (including me) also having us redo near to everything. Word documents and PowerPoint slides went missing. Every file to be mentioned was only half of what was put together. But it is better than not having any evidence at all left to backup my groups participation.

Creating both a video outcome as well as a digital print, there was me, (Amy Kilbride), Emily Smith who I had known since year ten, then there was Jasmine McNeal. A lass who me and Emily who had just met on the opening day of our course. Following that it was the three of us alone who worked together in producing the two outcomes, me and Miss Smith focusing on the video side whilst Miss McNeal focused more on the poster.

Starting off with our ideas being placed onto a document figuring everything out, you would find by following the link embed above had only been half way complete. If you had noticed by the title mentioning '2.0', that document was not the first where we put our plans. As I explained the issue with digital tasks going missing randomly at the beginning of the year, so did out planning document. Having to rewrite it all up, it was a little difficult considering I had already emptied everything onto the last document leading me to have to rethink of what I could which wasn't the easiest.
There is a reason as to why I didn't complete the second rewrite of the planning journal, that being I found screenshots of the original luckily helping in getting the plans down word for word as they had originally been documented. Therefore, A THIRD rewrite was in the works and this time, completed for the short project.
Before we began shooting, I put in place a script organizing the layout for when it came into production. There is also a storyboard that was made by Emily, I don't have access t it though to include it but yeah the storyboard is also out there somewhere. I did look on teams to try find it, but with Emily moving courses just before the Autumn half-term I fell unsuccessful as pretty much all of the data relating to Miss Smith is gone.
Evaluating our very first project, I didn't really get round to filling out all the questions as required. For one being about the target audience. Maybe if we had got round to screening our video I would have been able to respond having access to a real live audiences thoughts and opinions on the outcome. The second, as well as last part I hadn't answered, had to do with codes and convention. Throughout the period of working on this task, I hadn't understood the idea of the topic. Now though, after a few sessions of focusing on the area I'll know how to answer it next time.
Arriving at the end for filmmaking, with a criteria being in place I had to work out if everything put together for the making of this short, fitted without any missing sections. As required, I believe effort had gone into every area of the overview guidance. There is that possibility that I am wrong, but for now it appears that nothing has been left out.
Being the last document I have ready to publish, I made a guidance overview to help section all that went on from pre to post production. During my art course over at Newcastle College I struggled when it came to figuring out where the work fitted on the spectrum. So aiming to make sure we succeeded in  completing the criteria, I put together a PowerPoint making sure each skill had been reached.
Anything left out of this blog will have been uploaded by the other two who were involved in the making on of the poster and video. Everything relating to the poster was worked on by partner Jasmine leaving me and Emily sharing sections from the making of the video. I know there was a storyboard Emily put together, other than that everything I got to work on has been added onto this blog. Everything but what had gotten deleted during the process of course.
As for the final outcome, honestly I have no idea where that could be found. Emily might have been the one to publish the video? Same with Jasmine uploading the poster somewhere. Otherwise I guess they have also disappeared. All I know, is that there definitely was a final video alongside the final poster product.
