Spielberg podcast

Being our first podcast project, we got to come up with any topic we wanted. At first I knew that I wanted the podcast to relate to film and TV somehow, or maybe just movies... maybe just TV. After plenty of thinking, I went with the idea of talking about one of the most famous Directors. Steven Spielberg. And although our task was to put together one, I created it as if it was the first episode of a new series, each chapter was to focus on one Director at a time. Just of course, no episode two was in the makes after the first.

Putting the initial ideas down on a word document, it helped in gathering what I needed for my first podcast project.

A pitch was put in place for my podcast. Thing is, its not as descriptive or even as well planned out as it could have been... no, should have been. Knowing now though how the pre-production stage for a podcast should look, next time more effort will be put into the projects.

To help give us a rough idea on what we could talk about relating to Mr. Spielberg, I put together a PowerPoint full of movies directed by him, films he was an executor producer for. Upcoming projects, techniques that help make Spielberg memorable and unique, and even some facts about the guy. Luckily it came to good use, without the document we wouldn't of known what to talk about. Maybe a small conversation would have came up, but wouldn't of been good enough.

As for the podcast itself, when it had arrived to the day of recording another day was needed leading to two audio files being at hand. The reason I wanted to rerecord was due to the case not so much went on on the first day, what was recorded wasn't enough with not enough talk on the Director. Then when it came to day two, a lot more was said which was just what I was after. Unfortunately though, when it came to editing the files together and cutting them down, the smaller audio file was saved correctly allowing access. As for the second file, the longer more detailed recording, it was missing. Well not missing, the file was there but it wasn't accessible. I even headed back to the very same recording studio it was prepared in, logged onto the mac only to find the file was there but just like before, in no way was the file accessible. Did have help trying to save the audio, but even then there was nothing that could be done in the end. So I was left to work with the original audio.

I do have the zip file of the podcast aside, and I did spend a few trying to find the right audio but had trouble there. So I will be publishing this blog with everything about the podcast, just not the podcast itself.
