Smile: Plans
Before Production began a few (two) documents were put together helping to organise my planning for the campaign, Smile. Being somewhat useful in their own ways, not everything written down carried out into production as the ideas that had originally been put together.
Starting off was a document I created first thing after giving my pitch helping to note down my options and ideas for when it came to filming finding what it was I wanted to put in the video exactly. That included plots for each scene to be written out giving a range to choose from, the number of actors I would need involved for each scene, location possibilities, what equipment would be needed, props and what budget would come with filming the scenes.
Choosing my scenes, I used emoticons to show which options I was happy to go forward with. A green smiley face for those I liked an wanted to go ahead with and develop. Whilst an orange question mark would be set on the ones I wasn't too sure of being more happy just to leave them certain scenarios behind for the pre-production stage. That only being one of the ideas really being placed in the uncertain zone as the rest got to develop in the script. Although, at the bottom you would find another two plots that were included yet unfinished as, at the time of planning the scenes, I couldn't think up another stressful situation to pair up not wanting the scenes to become repetitive. Plus there was a good number of chosen plots, didn't really need too many considering it is only an advertisement we're putting together, not a short film.
Going towards every scene, I originally noted that no money would have had to of been put forward to help get production out of the way. Yeah I didn't really think of travel costs... Not much was spent though, really every penny that was spent for the purpose of gathering footage was worth it. From the first day of filming to the last, an exact total of £4.80 was spent in regards of the project. Not much at all really, all just to cover four bus rides. Two to Langley Park, then another two back home. The price could have been half the amount spent, but that would have only been if there was no issue the first trip through to Durham. Still again, all the footage has been taken so was definitely worth it. And a bonus: having to travel through gave me a good excuse to go see some old friends.
As for the second document, being different to the first this file was put together for the arrangements of casting people. Taking it's time, it take take a while to actually find people willing but after a lot of swapping around the cast was finally set in place. At least by the last day of filming, even throughout production there was still trouble getting everyone in their roles due to schedules coming up busy. Days were constantly switched about, actors were replaced, but we got there in the end.
