Western standoff project

Image
For this project, we have been set with a task testing our editing skills shooting shots for a short video which came together creating a Western standoff. Never edited before, this is the first time I have put the time into something like this as when it came to the Induction project at the start of the year, partner Emily Smith was the one who our group relied on for editing. Working from home to produce the final product, a software titled 'Video Pad' had been downloaded in order to help get the edit completed. Failing as I came to find this particular software too complicated, a different application had been found, 'Movavi', replacing Video Pad working more simpler for my level of editing. Issues did follow along with this app annoyingly, first being as videos were placed and cut some went quite dodgy glitching out on me as if they had been somehow hacked. To be fair, it is possible the glitching was due to my own home laptop being too slow but then again, not too ...

Smile: Campaign pitch

Image
Before officially starting the campaign, a pitch was created pulling all my ideas and research together showing I have thought through every, some more than others, section for the planning stage with the follow up of announcing what my main goal will be for this project showing I have exactly what I aim to stick with being the final outcome for this campaign. To create this pitch, I decided to use a very useful webpage titled 'Canva' that I had recently found whilst on the hunt for a similar software to PowerPoint, which I decided to use for another campaigns pitch that I am currently working on. Using Canva, zero issues were given throughout the making of the slideshow all from putting all to mention together up to it finally being presented; resulting in a decently presentable pitch which is all I really needed. Audience profile

Needing to know exactly who my target audience was for the making of this outcome, an audience profile was put together identifying those who took part in my survey. Audience profile from AmyKilbride2

Defining a Target Audience

Starting the research on my target audience, a survey was created to collect the data from those in my selected age group to gather information relating to topics of stress and what puts them in a positive mood. For those who took part in my survey, I had sent it around through social media requesting both family and friends found within the age duration of 15-25 to take part. From all who were willing, this gave me twenty-two responses giving me plenty to work with. Below is a word document where I shared the recorded data and analysed each question one by one.  My primary audience research from AmyKilbride2 After gathering information from the surveys creating primary research, I  then moved onto searching similar questions but on google looking for secondary research. The document file will be found below. Comparing the two, I believe primary was a lot more successful and accurate getting to hear from the target audience what they are personally like getting to know ...

TV adverts analysis

For the smile campaign we are working on on this course, we got to choose three different REAL television advertisements. The first would be focusing on awareness for mental health. The second would be promoting a charity whilst the third could be more of an upbeat advert compared to the previous two. Although there was three different adverts we were to find, it didn't have to follow the requirements as an option was given to collect three mental health ads. But for my analysis I decided to go ahead with the first option writing about different based advertisements which you will find in below following the file linked. Filming techniques

Adding to our videography sessions, another task was given but what's different is for this document we wrote about the different filming styles followed by examples relating to the certain technique. Filming techniques from AmyKilbride2

Editing techniques

Focusing on editing during the videography sessions, here is a word document where we had been instructed to gather information and write it down on all the editing techniques, like we did previously for the camera work session. Editing techniques from AmyKilbride2
