Canon: Final outcome + Feedback

At the end of Post-Production now, a digital print has been put together creating a poster to advertise the client as well as a video outcome all made to promote the same topic. Following the results, from a presentation given to screen the outcomes, all the feedback will be talked about below each product.

For the presentation as well, a quick document had been typed up helping me gather the right responses I needed heading in a more specific direction than the simple answers I could have received.

Canon feedback questions from AmyKilbride2

Not wanting too many questions to bombard on the audience, I thought up enough that would work in giving me the feedback I needed.

Placing in order of completion, up first is the poster. Since the print has already been uploaded on a different blog, all you will find here is the feedback for it.

Being the only digital print going towards the campaign, all the feedback received was mostly positive. Not uploading the audio file straight away, (which I recorded using my phone to collect the feedback first hand), I moved the recording onto Premier Pro not having access to logic due to the computer I was using and created an mp4 file. Editing the track down, I managed to cut the five minute recording down to three removing unwanted silences, a few stutters, etc.

Once all was done and ready to go, the track was rendered, exported then finally uploaded to YouTube to be inserted in this blog.

Greeting the three awaiting to see the product, I gave a quick reasoning as to why it was put together then moved straight on to showing them how the print looks.

Requesting their opinions, all responses were positive as they all claimed to like how the print is.

Needing to know whether or not by looking at the design, could they tell what the meaning was behind it? Answering back on how it is about "friends, and making memories" I believe some could, and some couldn't find the message as one response after goes "Yes I can see that now". So what is clear to some isn't clear to all.

Making sure the product appeals to the target audience, by the responses it does, but also heads towards younger ages as well as the focus group.

Only two sections of the design were mentioned as a focus to change. One being a few of the font choices as they were slightly difficult to read. The second was about the background which I could agree on. Claiming it was too bland, it shouldn't be too difficult of a job to change for the best.

As for questions, the only one I received in the end was about the tape PNGs. Wanting to know if I had photographed them or ended up finding the images elsewhere.

Overall, they all claimed to like the poster as a whole a part from of course, a few of the fonts alongside the red background.

Next to insert, the very first video product I got finished. Which is also the main video I have to push forward.
For that advertisement, the feedback will be uploaded now. As of the questions, they remain the same for the video as they were in use for the poster. Not uploading the audio file straight away, I went head and trimmed it using the software Premier Pro, again as I did for the feedback given for the product above for the same reasons.

Due to an incident in uploading, the edited audio file had been posted twice as the first time round over half of the video was cut off. Embedding now, is the complete version I had double checked before inserting making sure you would be led to the right track.

Straight away, a great response with "I actually really liked that" as one commented on how they enjoyed the opening sequence with another adding on about the end transitions.

And before I could ask, a tip was given suggesting that sound could have been added to the first few seconds of the draft with how empty it came across. Further on in the presentation, another change was brought up. That being, not everyone was so pleased with the end sequence finding the imagery "funky". Suggesting I use PNGs, I had to mention how that had been a failed attempt due to the red background which would cause the canon logo to blend in rather than stand out. As for the camera, looking around for a PNG file, they all looked fake and animated. Whereas I was after a real product to upload giving the audience the real deal.

Luckily, there was no issue with getting the message across as everyone who was present could see the meaning behind the making of the video. Then to make sure, they all agreed on the draft being suitable for their age range.

Overall, multiple thumbs up were received as they all claimed to like what they had just watched.

Announcing the first video outcome is the main for this campaign, the next three will be acknowledged more as drafts.
Annoyingly with this one, it had to be screen recorded with issues coming from the software used to create the product. Being smaller on the screen as well as slightly glitchy, the draft is still there and you can hear the music clearly. And now I know not to continue on with VideoPad considering the circumstance it has led me to just to upload it.

Mentioning this video attempt in the presentation for the other, I announced it as an option to the audience who, after I explained the issues with it, found they weren't interested in giving it a go.

Leaving out the other video outcomes, I have decided to stick with the two that are already complete as there was too much trouble attempting to get the drafts complete outside of college whilst inside, there wasn't enough time.
